All metaprogression is weird, but this one particularly so. Instead of just unlocking higher difficulties as you played, you unlocked perks and abilites. The game got easier as you played instead of harder. *shakes head in disbelief* Real solid game otherwise.

WebDead Cells is a fantastic game, but you might feel bored with it after a couple of wins. Getting to those wins takes time, though. Not to mention, it's still in early access and the game gets updated frequently. It's satisfying and fun, but really hard. Slay the Spire does have Daily challenge system, which functions similarly to Nuclear Throne's Weekly challenges. There are some huge differences between the games despite them both being roguelikes: StS is turn-based, NT is real-time.
