The scone came to be to bring awareness to the Fisher flour mill that opened in 1911 by Oliver David Fisher who had moved to Seattle, Washington from Orleans, Missouri in 1906. Fisher Scones originated as a promotional tool for Seattle-based Fisher Flour Mills during the early 1900’s. Scones were given away or sold for pennies at expositions to promote their flour.
